30 Jun 2015 Pallet-Track staff receive a lift at FLT driver challenge – ‘Loads’ to enjoy at the Pallet-Track family fun day
It was not only the stakes that were high, but also the loads at the Pallet-Track Fork Lift Truck Driver Challenge and fun day at the company’s Wolverhampton headquarters at the weekend (Sunday 20 September).
The event which took place in Millfields Road saw the company’s FLT drivers demonstrate their materials handling talents – skills that they demonstrate every night of the week when safely loading and unloading trucks at the 267,000 sq ft hub.
Up for grabs in the event run in association with Linde, was a top prize of £500 for the driver who was most impressive around the obstacle course, which was won by Paul Mallin.
Second prize of £250 was won by Steve Harrison and the runner up was Adrian Spesser who claimed £100. Chris Wray won the Kart obstacle challenge and £50.
The day was attended by staff and their families at what has become an annual event which included the 2015 Tug-of-War Challenge, with a £100 prize to the winning team, donkey rides, a bouncy castle, BBQ and hog roast.
Managing director Nigel Parkes said: “This has become a major event in the Pallet-Track calendar which is enjoyed by the staff and their families and gives everyone a sense of achievement and fun.”
