Night Fork Lift Truck Drivers - Wolverhampton

We have several opportunities for accredited and experienced forklift truck drivers to join our night operations team in Wolverhampton.

Role overview:

  • Ensure all safety checks are completed on forklift truck and relevant documentation completed at the start of your shift
  • Drive at a suitable speed that is safe for the
    • type of load
    • surface conditions
    • Surrounding environment at all times
  • Unload and load trailers within a set timeframe
  • Ensure weight distribution across decks and axles.
  • Observe site rules at all times.
  • Co-operate fully in all matters of Health & Safety.

Successful candidates must:

  • Have a proven track record within the distribution industry, preferably a centralised hub environment.
  • Hold an accredited counterbalance licence.
  • Have recent driving experience.
  • All applicants must be prepared to work a permanent night shift.

Please note the recruitment process will include an onsite practical assessment.

Hours: 47.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday, shifts between the hours of 6:00pm-7:00am

Night Team Manager - Wolverhampton

A vacancy has arisen for a Night Hub Forklift Truck Supervisor to be part of an expanding Night Operations Department. The successful candidate must have a proven track record within the Distribution Industry, preferably a centralised hub environment and hold a counterbalance license with recent driving experience.

The role consists of both driving within and supervising a team of Forklift Truck drivers, therefore a proven record of supervising teams within a paced environment is essential. In addition, the successful candidate must have the willingness to go that extra mile. You will report directly to the Head of Night Operations

Key Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for supervising a team of up to 30 Forklift Truck Drivers
  • Ensure Forklift Trucks are operated safely and efficiently in line with company guidelines
  • Monitor and enforce pre-use forklift checks, ensure all machinery is safe for use
  • Oversee support departments including the quality control and yard areas
  • Be proactive in the smooth running of the Pallet-Track Hub and Spoke concept to provide an excellent service for our Shareholder members
  • Ensure all palletised freight that arrives at the Hub is unloaded safely and distributed to the correct bays
  • Ensure all palletised freight is reloaded and processed in an effective way to ensure a safe and cost-effective delivery to its next destination
  • Assist management in the training and development of all night employees
  • Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety policies to ensure and maintain a safe working environment

Skills and experience required:

  • Highly numerate and analytical
  • Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written
  • The ability to effectively handle contacts at all levels within the business, both internally and externally
  • Be able to complete work to deadlines ensuring attention to detail at all times
  • Have a positive, empathetic and customer-focused approach to work
  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to motivate people to drive continuous results
